Tahoe City Oktoberfest

Kick off the Oktoberfest fun in North Lake Tahoe with Tahoe City’s celebration on September 21st, from 12–5 pm, at Gatekeeper’s Museum. Sip on specialty craft beers from local breweries and enjoy a selection of Bavarian-inspired dishes. The event is packed with games and activities for all ages, including classic favorites like the Stein squat, Yodel Contest, Weiner toss, and a German costume contest with plenty of prizes up for grabs!

Advance tickets are available for $20, or you can grab them at the door for $25. Each ticket includes a commemorative Oktoberfest beer glass and two drink tokens. Feeling like some pre-festival exercise? Join the Lederhosen 5k before the festivities kick off! Registration includes Oktoberfest entry, and there’s no better way to get into the spirit than running in your best Lederhosen or Dirndl.

Oktoberfest at Palisades Tahoe

A week later, the fun continues with Oktoberfest at Palisades Tahoe on September 28th, from 12–6 pm, in the heart of the Village at Palisades Tahoe. This celebration promises a day filled with authentic German beer, Bavarian music, dancing, and all your favorite Oktoberfest games!

Live Bavarian entertainment will echo through the village, setting the perfect backdrop for the festivities. Sip on brews from local favorites like Sierra Nevada, Alibi, Truckee Brewing, FiftyFifty, and more. Kids can join the fun too, with root beer floats available! Hungry? Satisfy your cravings with German-style bratwurst, giant pretzels, and authentic cheese bread and desserts from A Slice of Switzerland.

If you’re feeling competitive, don’t miss the Oktoberfest Games! The Stein Race kicks off at 1 pm, followed by the Brat Toss at 2:30 pm, and the crowd-favorite Stein Holding Competition at 4 pm.
